We welcome you and your friends to Tromsø and on board our luxury catamaran. We get to know the Skipper, the boat host and the boat's facilities. We visit the cities' best restaurant (expenses not included) for a better dinner before heading (next morning) towards wild and beautiful nature, - on our way to magic Lofoten.
First stop is Finnsnes. Finnsnes is a very small city and administration center in Senja municipality in Troms and Finnmark. Finnsnes settlement has 4 754 inhabitants as of 1 January 2019, but when you talk about the city, you often count the settlement Silsand which has 1 563 inhabitants. After a short stop (approx one hour) we continue to Skrollsvik village at beautiful Senja Island. Here you can walk around and see how Norwegians live in the country. Skrollsvik is located at the southern tip of Senja. It has just under 100 inhabitants. The place has a department under the Mid-Troms Museum; Kveitmuseet / Gammelbutikken and the closed Skrolsvik fort.
Long day! (We will discuss route before taking decission)
We will stay here overnight until the next day.
Early the next morning, after breakfast, we set course for Harstad city. We go ashore for shopping and hiking in the city. Harstad is a city and administrative center in Harstad municipality. With a population of around 21,000, the city is the second largest in Troms and Finnmark, and the third largest in northern Norway. Harstad is located northeast of Hinnøya; the north- and south-going Hurtigruten meet every morning.
We have lunch at a suitable restaurant before we set course for Sortland.
On the trip to Sortland, we pass inside Grytøy Island, later on we pass Risøyrenna, a very narrow canal between Andøya and the mainland. Along the canal we pass beautiful Risøyhavn village. Sortland is a town and administration center in Sortland municipality in Nordland county. The town is located by Sortlandssundet furthest east on Langøya, by Sortlandsbrua over to Hinnøya. The settlement has almost 10,500 inhabitants as of 1 January 2019
We stay overnight
Everyone who visits Lofoten will see the beautiful Trollfjord. The only way to get there is by boat. We sail into Trollfjord and if we are lucky we find free space at the old power plant in the vicinity of the fjord. Here we stay until the next day. You can walk along the path up in the countryside and will get a magical view.
Then we We are heading to Skrova, an island in the Vestfjord, about eight kilometers southeast of Svolvær. Boat is the only way to get there. After a short stop we continue to Svolvær.
Svolvær is the administration center in Vågan municipality, and with about 4700 inhabitants, it is the place with the most people in Lofoten. The place is perhaps best known for the mountain cliff Svolværgeita and the city of light. A magical light experience, - summer as dark time. Lofoten and Svolvær are proud of their history, people have lived here since the ice retreated and the Vikings ruled in the Viking Age. Take a trip to the Viking Museum at Borg, get an insight into the local history and how the fishing profession was then.
We are enjoying dinner at a nice restaurant in Svolvær, and maybe a glass of wine or bear at one of the local bars before getting to sleep aboard.
We are staying overnight in Svolvær
After a relaxed breakfast aboard we slowly continue to the fishing villaga Kabelvåg for a short stop before ending the sailing day in Henningsvær.
Kabelvåg is the oldest fishing village in Lofoten, the commercial part of Lofoten fishing started here about 1000 years ago. Fishermen from all over northern Norway applied to the waves around Kabelvåg, the old Vågan, to harvest their share of the annual cod entry. Vågan gradually grew to become the center of medieval Hålogaland. Today, Kabelvåg is first and foremost a place for school, culture and tourism
Henningsvær is a fishing village and town in Vågan municipality in Nordland. Henningsvær is located on the southern tip of Austvågøya in Lofoten. The settlement had 494 inhabitants 1 January 2019.
Late evening, we taste local dinner at one of the cozy restaurants in Henningsvær
We are staying overnight in Henningsvær.
We continue our nice cruising to Stamsund which is a town in Vestvågøy municipality in Lofoten in Nordland. The settlement has 1,100 inhabitants 1 January 2019. Stamsund is an important fishing village with Lerøy Seafoods as as the most important company.
After a short stop we continue to Ballstad. This is a fishing village with a settlement 1,142 inhabitants. The name apparently comes from the Norse male name Baldrekr. The fishing village is sheltered from the open sea by large and small islands.
And finally beautiful Reine, a fishing village in Moskenes municipality in Lofoten. Reine is the administration center in the municipality, and has 312 inhabitants 1 January 2017. The islands on Reine are connected by bridges. Reine has been a trading post since 1743.
Staying overnight in Reine
Our last sailing day goes from Reine to beautiful Nussfjord on our way back to Svolvær. Nusfjord is one of Norway's oldest and best preserved fishing villages, located on Flakstadøya in Flakstad municipality. Fishing has been practiced in Nusfjord since the middle of the 19th century. There have long been "rumors" that the wooden houses in Nusfjord are on the UNESCO World Heritage List, but this is not true.

Tromsø, often called the “Gateway to the Arctic,” is the perfect starting point for your sailing adventure. This lively city blends modern culture with rich polar history, home to the Arctic Cathedral, Polaria, and the world’s northernmost cable car. Stroll along the waterfront, explore cozy cafés, or visit museums that tell the story of Arctic explorers. Whether under the midnight sun or the northern lights, Tromsø offers a vibrant taste of the north before you set sail.
Northern Norway has some of the best fishing areas in the world, and most people who visit northern Norway have fishing luck. Self-caught and super fresh fish made in the northern Norwegian way tastes fantastic.
The nature is breathtaking, with wild and spectacular mountains, nice fjords and a lot of islands. There is so many beautiful places to experience during this tour, - words is not enough.
The midnight sun period is from May 22 to July 22. You can only experience this natural phenomenon in northern Norway. The sun does not set below the horizon and daylight is here 24 hours a day. The magical nature can therefore be experienced both day and night. Even after July 22 the daylight continue to end of august. The magic Northernlights starts at end of august
Everyone who visits Lofoten will see the beautiful Trollfjord. The approximately 2.5 kilometer long fjord is only 200 meters wide at the mouth and 100 meters at the narrow constriction, but widens at the bottom where it forms a pool that is 350 meters wide and 60 meters at its deepest. At the narrow part is a reef of fallen stone and the depth is only 30 meters. The smooth-polished wall on the north side consists of monzonite - Norway's oldest rock. The only way to get there is by boat.
When we arrive In Lofoten we visit Svolvær, Skrova island, Kabelvåg, Henningsvær, Nussfjord, Ballstad and Reine. All of them, super nice small villages. In other words, the best of the best.
Lofoten is known for its unique nature with mountains and peaks, open sea and sheltered coves, beaches and large unspoilt land.
Browsing through photos of Lofoten is like stepping into a dream — sharp mountain peaks rising from turquoise seas, fishing huts painted bright red against snowy backdrops, and golden sunsets that never seem to end. Each image captures the raw magic of the Arctic, making you long to experience it with your own eyes.

Fly into Tromsø Airport (TOS) — it’s well-connected with daily flights from Oslo and other major hubs. From the airport, it’s just a 10–15 minute drive to the city centre, where our boats are docked. We recommend spending a day in Tromsø before your voyage to explore its lively cafés, Arctic architecture, and scenic viewpoints.
At the end of your tour, you’ll fly out from Svolvær Airport (SVJ). The harbor is located just 5–10 minutes by taxi from the airport, making departure smooth and convenient. We’re happy to assist with transfer recommendations or custom arrangements along the way.

We had a n absolutely incredible trip on Artic Dream and Artic Princess sailing and skiing the Norwegian Sea and Lyngen Alps. Our group of 15( + two ski guides and 2 skippers) did it all, we skinned, skied, sailed, fished, found saunas, plunged in the ocean and had a wonderful week with Artic Cruise. They are very accommodation and service minded to make everyone safe and comfortable
