We welcome you and your friends to Tromsø and on board our luxury catamaran. We get to know the Skipper, the boat host and the boat's facilities. We visit the cities' best restaurant (expenses not included) for a better dinner before heading towards wild and beautiful nature, - on our way to magic Lyngen.
Set sail from Tromsø and enjoy a relaxing passage toward Finnkrokan, where the open sea and rugged coastline set the scene. Along the way, the waters are rich with cod, halibut, and other Arctic fish — making fishing during the journey a true highlight. Arriving in the small village of Finnkrokan, you’ll be greeted by sweeping fjord views and the timeless charm of coastal Norway.
Leaving Nord-Lenangen, the course takes you deeper into the Lyngen fjords, where alpine peaks reflect in the clear Arctic waters. The sail to Hamnes is calm and scenic, bringing you to a historic trading post with roots back to the 1800s. Here, old wooden houses and cultural heritage blend with stunning fjord views, offering both history and beauty in one stop.
When sailing across Lyngenfjord, weather is an important factor to consider. The fjord is wide and exposed, which can bring strong winds and shifting conditions even in summer. On clear days, the crossing rewards you with spectacular views of snowcapped peaks mirrored in calm waters — but it’s always wise to stay flexible, as Arctic weather can change quickly.
From Hamnes, the route carries you out across the wide Lyngenfjord, where the scenery is nothing short of spectacular. Towering alpine peaks rise directly from the water, their snowcapped ridges mirrored in the fjord’s shifting blue. This stretch offers some of the most breathtaking views in Northern Norway, making the approach to Akkarvik a true highlight of the journey
Departing Akkarvik, the course takes you westward along open stretches of sea before turning toward the island of Karlsøy. The contrast is striking — from quiet fishing hamlets to an island known for its vibrant cultural spirit and rich Arctic traditions. Karlsøy has long been a meeting place for travelers, offering both scenic beauty and a glimpse into Northern Norway’s living culture.
From Hansnes or Karlsøy, set sail south through the tranquil waters of Langsund, a channel framed by islands and rolling coastal landscapes. The passage offers calm sailing and sweeping views, with the Lyngen Alps still visible in the distance. As you approach Tromsø, the Arctic capital rises between mountains and sea, marking a fitting end to your Northern Norwegian sailing adventure.
Your Arctic journey begins here – from planning the route to choosing the perfect season.

Tromsø, often called the “Gateway to the Arctic,” is the perfect starting point for your sailing adventure. This lively city blends modern culture with rich polar history, home to the Arctic Cathedral, Polaria, and the world’s northernmost cable car. Stroll along the waterfront, explore cozy cafés, or visit museums that tell the story of Arctic explorers. Whether under the midnight sun or the northern lights, Tromsø offers a vibrant taste of the north before you set sail.
The Lyngen Alps are one of Northern Norway’s true natural wonders, where sharp alpine peaks rise straight from the deep fjords. Known for their dramatic beauty, the mountains offer a stunning contrast to the calm villages and serene sailing waters along the coast. In summer, the midnight sun bathes Lyngen in golden light, while in spring the snowcapped peaks create a magical Arctic panorama. Whether you seek adventure or tranquility, Lyngen is a destination that stays with you forever.
The nature is breathtaking, with wild and spectacular mountains, nice fjords and a lot of islands. There is so many beautiful places to experience during this tour, - words is not enough.
The midnight sun period is from May 22 to July 22. You can only experience this natural phenomenon in northern Norway. The sun does not set below the horizon and daylight is here 24 hours a day. The magical nature can therefore be experienced both day and night. Even after July 22 the daylight continue to end of august. The magic Northernlights starts at end of august
The Lyngen region is alive with Arctic wildlife, both on land and at sea. While sailing, you may spot eagles circling above the fjords, seals resting on the rocks, or porpoises and whales surfacing in the clear waters. The mountains and valleys are home to reindeer and rich birdlife, adding to the sense of untouched wilderness. Every encounter with wildlife here feels like a rare gift from nature.
Summer in the Lyngen Alps is mild, bright, and full of contrasts. From June to August, temperatures often range between 10–20°C, perfect for sailing and hiking. Long, golden days under the midnight sun make it possible to explore around the clock, while cool breezes from the fjords keep the air fresh and clear. The combination of light, mountains, and sea creates a magical Arctic summer atmosphere found nowhere else.
Browsing through photos of the Lyngen Alps is like stepping into a living postcard — snowcapped peaks plunging into deep fjords, quiet villages along the shoreline, and skies shifting between golden light and Arctic blue. Each picture reflects the raw beauty of the north, leaving you eager to experience it with your own eyes.
A destination that truly lets you get close to the Arctic nature, seasons, culture, and the people of Northern Norway. The destination is marked as a sustainable travel destination and here you can get amazing nature experiences all year round. Known for summit hikes in the Lyngen Alps, fishing trips on the Lyngenfjord, boat trips to Mollisfossen, the archipelago of Skjervøy, Reisa National Park and much more.

Fly into Tromsø Airport (TOS) — it’s well-connected with daily flights from Oslo and other major hubs. From the airport, it’s just a 10–15 minute drive to the city centre, where our boats are docked. We recommend spending a day in Tromsø before your voyage to explore its lively cafés, Arctic architecture, and scenic viewpoints.

We had a n absolutely incredible trip on Artic Dream and Artic Princess sailing and skiing the Norwegian Sea and Lyngen Alps. Our group of 15( + two ski guides and 2 skippers) did it all, we skinned, skied, sailed, fished, found saunas, plunged in the ocean and had a wonderful week with Artic Cruise. They are very accommodation and service minded to make everyone safe and comfortable
